About the role

Acre is partnering with Earthtree, a subsidiary of Earthbanc, to identify an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to lead and develop the HR function in a fast-growing environment.

This role requires a strategic HR leader with expertise in recruitment, talent management, and compliance with Indian labor laws.


The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping HR policies that foster efficiency, employee engagement, and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with company goals.
  • Establish and manage HR systems, including travel reimbursement processes, attendance tracking, leave management, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, from sourcing to onboarding, for various seniority levels across India.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and regulations.
  • Design and execute talent management, career development, and employee retention initiatives.
  • Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Manage payroll processing, compliance, and HRIS operations.
  • Create and refine job descriptions in consultation with technical experts.
  • Ensure HR processes are efficient, scalable, and employee-friendly in a rapidly expanding organization.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Oversee data management, record-keeping, and coordination with EPFO, PF Department, and Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
  • Lead the onboarding program for new hires.
  • Drive initiatives that foster a positive and engaging workplace culture.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Khasi and Jaintia languages is desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of HR management experience in India, preferably in a fast-growing organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and compliance requirements.
  • A proactive, people-centric approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies effectively.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
  • Strong people development skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Experience managing interdisciplinary and remote teams across multiple time zones.
  • Exceptional project and time management skills, with proficiency in digital tools.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications

  • International work experience in diverse cultural settings.
  • Experience in building HR functions from the ground up.
  • Background in managing virtual teams within rapidly growing companies.
  • Familiarity with HR software and automated systems.
