POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN/EMPLOYMENT COACH (HYBRID) I

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Employment Coach / Behavioral Health Technician (Hybrid) combines the responsibilities of supporting clients in both employment-related activities and providing behavioral health services. This role involves ensuring compliance with third-party stakeholders through documentation aligned with client treatment plans, providing job coaching, and offering employment support to clients.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist clients in becoming independent and self-sufficient through developing self-advocacy skills and participation in long-term planning and organizational development activities.
Standard: All notes are reflective of goals established in the treatment plan and must be entered into the billing system within 48 hours. - Exhibit thorough knowledge of behavioral health and housing contracted services.
Standard: 100% compliance with contract responsibilities as demonstrated through audit findings. - Participate in weekly On-Call lists for emergency maintenance or behavioral health calls.
Standard: 100% availability during on-call coverage. - Facilitate initial and annual psychological assessments and treatment plans for submission and approval by a licensed professional.
Standard: Plans completed, submitted, and approved by the due date. - Attend and participate in scheduled clinical supervision meetings and complete all agency mandatory training.
Standard: 100% compliance with all mandatory training and meetings. - Complete annual recertifications for clients receiving supportive services and ADOH contract recipients.
Standard: 100% completion of recertifications by the due date. - Contributes to the development and documentation of client’s goals and objectives for client’s treatment plan.
Standard: 100% of clients treatment plans are in compliance. - Ensure active participation in client Adult Recovery Team Meetings (ART) meetings and monthly client staffing meetings with primary providers. Assist clients with navigating resources and referrals to agencies in the community that align with their goals and objectives.
Standard: ensure all service plans and assessments are requested in a timely manner and up to date - Perform other duties as assigned by the Behavioral Health Manager/Director of Human Services.
Standard: All projects are completed on time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position has no supervisory responsibility. - Confidentiality
This position is exposed to highly confidential client information including behavioral health and physical health diagnosis and disability information, demographic information and client financial status. - Mental Application and Responsibility
Ability to prioritize and organize workload, handle numerous tasks simultaneously, and work under pressure. Must interact with discretion and professionalism regarding confidential client information. - Internal and Public Contacts
High degree of interaction with staff, clients, family members, and other social service agency staff in the community. - Conditions and Equipment
The work environment includes client home visits, clinical, office settings, and community settings for behavioral health and job coaching activities. Must remain awake and alert throughout each work shift. - Physical Demands
The work environment includes home and office settings. Must be able to walk up and down stairs and lift up to 25 pounds. Complete training for safety and crisis intervention.
ABILITIES
- Language (Communication)
Must communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing; possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. - Mathematical
Basic mathematics is required. - Reasoning
Position requires basic understanding of working with people who have unique disabilities, basic understanding of crisis prevention and intervention and to assist in a recovery model or plan. Basic understanding of First Aid and CPR. - Other
Basic understanding of Arizona State Housing Rules, Fair Housing and Landlord Tenant Act Laws, HUD eligibility guidelines, and Housing Contracts. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and comply with Fair Housing laws.
QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED
Associates Degree preferred - Experience
Requires a minimum of 6 months to two years of case management experience. - Other
Must be over 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Must obtain valid certifications for Agency compliance within 90 days of employment.
Pass background check inclusive of Excluded Provider List System (EPLS) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

OSHA
Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 was passed to prevent workers from being seriously harmed at work or killed at work, and the law requires employers to provide their employees with working conditions that are free of known dangers. The Act created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which sets and enforces protective workplace safety and health standards which are maintained by the Agency. OSHA also provides information, training and assistance to workers and employers. Workers may file a complaint to have OSHA inspect their workplace if they believe that the Agency is not following OSHA standards or that there are serious hazards in the workplace. An injured worker may undergo a drug screening.
