Position Summary
The Associate Director – AR will oversee the complete Accounts Receivable operations for US - based clients from an offshore center in Pune. The role requires an experienced finance leader with a strong academic foundation, relevant professional certifications, and a proven ability to manage large teams, complex client relationships, and performance-driven AR processes aligned to global standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. AR Operations Leadership
- Manage end-to-end AR processes including billing, collections, cash application, reconciliations, deductions, and credit management.
- Reduce DSO, improve collection efficiency, and enhance cash flow accuracy.
- Oversee escalation handling and ensure SLA-driven service delivery.
2. Client & Stakeholder Management (US/UK/EU)
- Serve as the primary offshore leader for client-facing interactions in the US/UK/EU regions.
- Conduct regular governance calls, performance reviews, and business discussions with senior client stakeholders.
- Understand time-zone–specific requirements and ensure seamless alignment with EST business hours.
3. People Leadership
- Lead multiple AR teams across shifts and specialties (billing, collections, cash app).
- Hire, train, mentor, and develop staff to meet global service standards.
- Ensure high team engagement, optimum staffing, and controlled attrition.
4. Process Excellence & Transformation
- Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Collaborate with technology teams for ERP optimization (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite) and AR automation tools.
- Implement dashboards and analytical models to improve visibility & forecasting.
5. Compliance & Financial Governance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, SOX controls, audit requirements, and internal policies.
- Oversee accurate MIS reporting, credit controls, and AR aging management.
- Strengthen risk management and internal control mechanisms.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (MBA Finance / M.Com).
- Strong academic record required. Preferred Certifications
- CPA / ACCA / CMA / CFA Level I
- Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- ERP certifications (SAP FI, Oracle Financials, NetSuite, etc.)
Experience
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in AR / O2C operations.
- Minimum 5 years managing offshore teams for US clients.
- Proven experience handling global AR transitions, process migrations, or shared services.
Skills & Core Competencies
- Advanced expertise in global AR processes.
- Strong communication skills suitable for US/UK/EU senior stakeholders.
- Analytical and data-driven decision-making capability.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and conflict-handling skills.
- Strong command over Excel, dashboards, BI tools, and ERP platforms.
