The Accounts Payable Lead is responsible for overseeing the complete accounts payable function of the manufacturing company, ensuring accurate accounting, timely vendor payments, statutory compliance, and strong internal controls. The role plays a critical part in maintaining vendor confidence, managing working capital, and supporting smooth plant operations.
The incumbent will manage end-to-end processing of vendor invoices covering raw materials, consumables, capital goods, job work, freight, and service expenses.
A key responsibility is ensuring compliance with applicable statutory requirements, particularly GST and TDS. Also ensure timely month-end and year-end closing related to payables, including review of provisions, accruals, and outstanding liabilities.
The role requires designing, implementing, and monitoring strong internal controls to prevent duplicate, unauthorized, or fraudulent payments. Development and periodic updating of SOPs, driving process improvements, and leveraging ERP systems for automation and efficiency are integral to the position. The incumbent will lead and mentor the accounts payable team, set performance benchmarks, and coordinate closely with procurement, stores, production, and finance leadership.
Ideal Candidate
- CA Inter/ CA Drop Outs/Graduate/ MBA
- 5 to 8 years industry experience.
- Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Systems knowledge and familiarity (Preferably SAP)
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task.
- Experience in working with diversified industries
