Role Description The Accounts Manager (freight forwarding) will oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations related to freight and logistics activities. This includes managing customer and vendor accounts, preparing invoices, tracking receivables and payables, reconciling ledgers, and ensuring accurate cost allocation for FTL/LTL and consolidated cargo services. The role involves monitoring revenue and expenses, preparing periodic financial reports, supporting budgeting, and coordinating with operations and sales teams to ensure correct documentation and billing. The Accounts Manager will also help maintain compliance with internal policies and local regulations, support audits, and contribute to process improvements for greater financial efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Malappuram.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including invoicing, ledger reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Experience in freight forwarding or logistics accounting, including handling costs and billing for air/sea freight, inland transportation, and warehousing services.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as MS Excel and other standard office productivity tools.
- Ability to analyze financial data, track margins and cost efficiency, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with operations, sales, and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of basic tax, compliance, and audit requirements relevant to logistics and international trade is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, ACCA) are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Malappuram and adapt to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
