Manager – Accounts

About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable, detail-oriented, and experienced Manager – Accounts to lead and strengthen the client's organization’s finance and accounting operations. This role is critical in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial processes across the client's business.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise along with leadership capabilities to manage a team and oversee end-to-end accounting functions. You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic financial decision-making and maintain high standards of financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Month-End Close
- Lead and manage the monthly financial close process ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Ensure all expenses and revenues are recorded in the correct accounting periods
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain integrity and accuracy of the general ledger
- Monitor financial data across systems to ensure consistency and compliance
2. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Support preparation of financial statements as per GAAP and statutory requirements
- Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management
- Assist in management reporting and business decision support
3. Accounts Payable & Payroll Oversight
- Supervise accounts payable including vendor payments and invoice processing
- Oversee payroll accounting and statutory deductions
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and approval workflows
4. Budgeting & Variance Analysis
- Analyze financial performance against budgets
- Prepare variance reports and provide actionable insights
- Recommend corrective measures where required
- Support financial planning and forecasting activities
5. Internal Controls & Accounting Policies
- Develop, review, and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance standards
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation measures
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
6. Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors during statutory and financial audits
- Provide documentation, reconciliations, and explanations for audit queries
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations
- Maintain compliance with statutory filings and tax regulations
7. ERP Systems & Process Improvements
- Support ERP implementation, upgrades, and optimization
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
- Enhance efficiency of financial reporting and accounting workflows
8. Regulatory & Tax Compliance
- Monitor GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements
- Support preparation of tax returns and regulatory filings
- Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations
9. Team Management (Mandatory)
- Lead, manage, and mentor the accounting team
- Delegate tasks and review team deliverables
- Drive accountability, performance, and team productivity
- Build a strong, process-driven finance function

Qualifications
- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com / B.Com
- Professional certifications are an added advantage
Experience Requirements
- 7 – 12 years of experience in accounting and financial management - MUST HAVE
- Hands-on experience in financial reporting, audits, and month-end closing
- Mandatory experience in handling and managing a team - MUST HAVE
- Exposure to ERP-based accounting systems preferred
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, or project-based industries is an added advantage
