About The Role
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting the organization's core accounting and financial operations. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), cash applications, reconciliations, tax-related postings, and month-end close activities. The position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial reporting while supporting internal stakeholders and business decision-making.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple accounting processes within a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this role.
What Makes This Role Unique
- Direct impact: Work closely with the CFO and teams in Canada and India.
- Prestige & stability: Backed by Canon—one of the world’s most trusted brands
- Global exposure: Collaborate across geographies and time zones
YOU ARE!
You take pride in numbers that tie out to the penny — and here’s what else sounds like you:
- Detail-driven: You catch a $12 discrepancy before it becomes a $12,000 problem, and it genuinely bothers you when the numbers don’t match.
- Structured: You’d rather build a repeatable process than fight the same fire twice, and your reconciliations and schedules are clean enough for anyone to pick up.
- Deadline-driven: Month-end doesn’t rattle you — you thrive on the rhythm of close and hit every deadline without cutting corners.
- Growth-minded: You’re working toward (or thinking about) your CPA, and you want a role that builds real technical depth, not just data entry.
- Accountable: You want to own your numbers rather than be micromanaged, and you take that responsibility seriously.
- Globally curious: You want exposure beyond a single ledger — collaborating with finance leaders and teams across Canada and India, not just your own office.
