Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Operations Specialist (E-commerce & CPG)📍 Remote
🕒 EST Hours Required: 7:00 PM – 3:30 AM IST
⏳ Full-Time | Immediate Joiners Preferred
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly detail-oriented and dependable Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Operations Specialist to manage day-to-day accounting operations for a fast-growing e-commerce and CPG business operating across Shopify (DTC) and Stripe wholesale channels.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in structured financial operations, enjoys reconciliation-heavy workflows, and can independently manage bookkeeping, reporting, contractor payments, and close processes inside QuickBooks Online.
The ideal candidate has prior experience supporting Shopify-based businesses, understands revenue reconciliation workflows deeply, and communicates clearly and professionally in English while working closely with management and external CPA teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Transaction Management
- Manage and maintain bank feeds and reconciliations for:
- Chase
- Mercury
- Process and reconcile credit card transactions including:
- Ramp
- Chase Business Cards
- Categorize transactions accurately based on the Chart of Accounts
- Maintain organized bookkeeping records and reconciliation schedules
- Track:
- Owner contributions
- Owner distributions
- Inter-account transfers
- Maintain a weekly questions/issues log for unclear transactions
Revenue Reconciliation
- Reconcile Shopify payouts including:
- Gross sales
- Discounts
- Refunds
- Shipping revenue
- Payment processor fees
- Net deposits
- Reconcile Stripe wholesale payouts and deposits
- Maintain accurate payout-level reconciliation records
- Coordinate with external sales tax partners and avoid duplicate entries
Contractor Payments & 1099 Administration
- Track contractor payments across:
- Mercury
- Payoneer
- Zelle
- Maintain updated W-9 documentation
- Prepare annual 1099-NEC reporting
- Ensure contractor payment records remain accurate across platforms
Quarterly Tax & CPA Coordination
- Prepare quarterly financial packages for CPA review
- Support estimated tax preparation and quarterly close processes
- Coordinate with CPA regarding:
- Federal estimated taxes
- NY State franchise tax
- NYC Business Corporation Tax
- Record and track estimated tax payments accurately
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Complete monthly close by the 10th business day
- Prepare:
- Monthly P&L
- Balance Sheet
- DTC vs Wholesale reporting
- Written management summaries with key insights and flags
- Reconcile reports back to supporting documentation
Year-End Support
- Prepare clean year-end financial packages for CPA
- Support tax season requests and audit preparation
- Coordinate annual 1099 filings
- Maintain audit-ready accounting records and documentation
Systems & Tools- QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Shopify
- Stripe
- A2X
- Ramp
- Dext / Hubdoc / Receipt Capture Tools
Required Qualifications- 4+ years of bookkeeping or accounting operations experience
- Strong hands-on QuickBooks Online expertise
- Experience supporting:
- Shopify
- Stripe
- E-commerce or CPG businesses
- Strong reconciliation and bookkeeping discipline
- Experience with:
- Accounts Payable
- Contractor payments
- 1099 preparation
- Ability to work from bank statements, accounting exports, and payment platform reports
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently
- Must be comfortable working EST hours (7 PM – 3:30 AM IST)

- E-commerce bookkeeping
- Consumer / CPG brands
- Shopify + A2X workflows
- Ramp integrations
- C-Corp accounting environments
- CPA coordination and quarterly tax support
- AI-enabled accounting or bookkeeping workflows
