Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to lead our US accounting function. This individual will oversee the integrity of the general ledger, ensure compliance with US GAAP, lead monthly/quarterly closings, support audits, and play a pivotal role in training and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical accounting expertise, operational excellence, and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate maintenance and administration of the general ledger, ensuring strict adherence to US GAAP standards and internal accounting policies.
- Supervise and resolve complex accounting transactions and reconciliations, providing subject matter expertise to ensure high-integrity financial records across the organization.
- Independently manage month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations, while actively mentoring junior team members to uphold accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, serving as the primary escalation point for technical accounting issues and ensuring transparency in all financial disclosures.
- Prepare detailed management reports and variance analyses, comparing actual performance against budgets and forecasts, and deliver strategic insights to senior leadership to inform financial planning and risk mitigation.
- Provide hands-on support in the onboarding and accounting integration of new projects, ensuring alignment of financial entries with internal controls and system requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants by preparing audit-ready schedules, addressing queries efficiently, and ensuring timely and successful completion of audit and compliance processes.
- Drive a culture of learning and collaboration by coaching and developing junior accountants; promote continuous skill development in financial reporting, reconciliation, and ledger management to build a high-performing team.
- Identify and implement process enhancements, automation opportunities, and system improvements to streamline accounting operations and elevate reporting standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is required; a Master’s in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- At least 6-8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity; prior exposure to financial services or asset management is preferred.
- Strong expertise in US GAAP, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Proficient in accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero.
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership in delivering accurate and timely financial information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, auditors, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
