Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Kolkata. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and maintenance of ledgers. The role involves preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations. The Accountant will monitor cash flow, support payroll processing, and generate periodic financial reports to support management decision-making. The role also includes collaborating with internal teams, coordinating with external auditors or consultants when required, and recommending process improvements for better financial control and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar), MS Excel, and basic financial data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of local taxation rules, compliance requirements, and statutory filings relevant to businesses operating in India.
- Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and periodic closing activities.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and documentation, and strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners such as auditors or consultants.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA) are an advantage.
- Experience in a consulting, professional services, or HR-related environment is beneficial, along with familiarity with budgeting and cost control.
