Role Description
This full-time, on-site Accountant / Senior Accountant role is based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role involves preparing and reviewing bookkeeping records, management accounts, and year-end financial statements for UK-based clients in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Responsibilities include handling reconciliations, journals, and ledgers; supporting tax computations and working papers; and assisting with audit schedules and documentation as required. The accountant will collaborate closely with onshore client teams, respond to queries, and ensure timely, accurate delivery of work under strict data security and compliance guidelines. The role also includes using technology and internal tools to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including experience with double-entry accounting, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in using accounting software and related tools, ideally with exposure to UK accounting platforms and cloud-based systems.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of UK accounting, tax concepts, and compliance requirements, or be willing to learn and adapt to UK practice standards.
- Candidates should possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills to review data, identify discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in deliverables.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills for working with client-facing teams and managing timelines and expectations.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter, ACCA, or equivalent are beneficial, along with prior experience in an outsourced or shared services environment.
- Candidates should possess a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment with strong data security awareness.
