THE OPPORTUNITY
As our Accountant (Finance), you will be the financial backbone of NEM Digital — keeping our books immaculate, our compliance airtight, and giving leadership the financial clarity to make fast, confident decisions. This is a hands-on, ownership-driven role at the intersection of core accounting and strategic finance.
We are looking for someone who brings both depth (technical accounting chops, statutory knowledge) and breadth (stakeholder coordination, MIS reporting, vendor management). WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Accounts & Bookkeeping
– Own end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) — invoice verification, payment processing, collections, and reconciliation.
– Maintain clean, audit-ready books of accounts, vouchers, and all supporting financial documentation.
– Prepare and maintain accurate Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) on a timely basis.
Statutory Compliance
– Manage GST reconciliation, documentation, and coordinate timely filing of returns.
– Handle TDS computation, deduction verification, payment tracking, and support quarterly return filings.
– Liaise with Chartered Accountants for audits, tax assessments, statutory filings, and regulatory compliance.
Reporting & MIS
– Prepare monthly MIS reports, cash flow trackers, P&L summaries, and management dashboards.
– Drive month-end and year-end closing activities with accuracy and speed.
– Perform ledger scrutiny and proactively flag discrepancies in vendor/client accounts.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
– Manage vendor accounts: payment follow-ups, confirmations, debit/credit note adjustments, and query resolution.
– Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders (auditors, CAs, banks) for seamless finance operations.
– Maintain and optimise accounting data in Zoho Books, Tally, or the ERP of choice.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Qualifications & Experience
– B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
– 3–6 years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations.
– Prior exposure to advertising agencies, digital/marketing startups, or service-based businesses is a strong plus.
Technical Skills
– Solid command of GST, TDS, financial reconciliations, and Indian accounting standards.
– Proficiency in Zoho Books, Tally ERP, or equivalent accounting platforms.
– Advanced MS Excel skills — pivot tables, financial models, MIS templates.
– Familiarity with cash flow management and working capital optimisation.
Certifications (Preferred)
– Tally Certification / Zoho Books Certification
– GST Practitioner Certification
– Advanced Excel or Financial Modelling Certification
