Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and proactive
Accountant & Finance Associate to manage the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of our marketing agency while also supporting the founders in financial, analytical, and operational tasks for a financial education startup.
This role goes beyond traditional accounting. The candidate will handle
invoicing, ledgers, GST filings, tax compliance, and financial reporting, while also contributing to
sales coordination, payment follow-ups, and revenue tracking.
Additionally, the role will involve
financial research, stock market analysis, and assisting in the development of insights for financial education initiatives.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable wearing multiple hats —
part accountant, part finance analyst, part sales coordinator, and part founder's assistant.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Compliance
- Create and manage client invoices and maintain billing records.
- Follow up with clients for outstanding payments and collections.
- Maintain ledgers, vouchers, and accounting records using Tally.
- File GST returns and income tax returns in compliance with statutory deadlines.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and financial reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations, bookkeeping, and documentation.
- Support finance-related operations for the marketing agency.
Sales & Revenue Coordination
- Coordinate with the sales/business development team on client onboarding, payment terms, and commercial agreements.
- Track receivables, revenue, pending invoices, and payment schedules.
- Assist in preparing sales reports, revenue summaries, and cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure healthy cash flow through proactive payment follow-ups and financial tracking.
Financial Research & Analysis
- Conduct financial research on companies, markets, and economic trends.
- Perform basic stock market analysis and assist in preparing research notes or insights.
- Support the founders in developing financial content, analysis, and educational material for the financial education startup.
- Assist with data collection, financial modeling, and research reports when required.
Founder's Office Support
- Work closely with the founders on financial planning, operational tasks, and business analysis.
- Assist with ad hoc finance, commercial, or strategic tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Com graduate (mandatory); specialization in Finance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial documentation.
- Hands-on experience with Tally software.
- Understanding of GST, income tax filing, and compliance processes.
- Basic understanding of stock markets, financial research, and investment concepts.
- Ability to manage client communication for payments and financial coordination.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask across accounts, analysis, and operational tasks.
Work Schedule
- 6 days a week
- 8 hours per day
