Role Overview
We are looking for experienced and detail-oriented Accountants to join our finance team at our Kolkata and Bengaluru offices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Zoho Books and a solid understanding of Indian taxation including TDS, GST, and Income Tax. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations using Zoho Books
- Record, verify, and reconcile financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) accurately and on time
- Ensure correct deduction and timely deposit of TDS; prepare and file TDS returns
- Assist in Income Tax computations and advance tax calculations
- Maintain ledgers, bank reconciliation statements, and monthly MIS reports
- Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and company policies
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Zoho Books - hands-on working experience is a must
- Working knowledge of GST - filing, reconciliation, and compliance
- Basic understanding of TDS provisions - deduction, payment, and return filing
- Familiarity with Income Tax basics - computation and advance tax
- Good command over MS Excel and core accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication and coordination skills
Education & Eligibility Criteria
- B.Com or M.Com - Graduates are eligible to apply
- CA Dropouts are welcome - candidates who have discontinued CA and are not currently pursuing it
- Candidates currently enrolled in or actively pursuing any academic or professional course will not be considered
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role
- Prior experience in a CA firm, trading company, or SME setup will be an added advantage
