Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Kochi.
The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial transactions, including recording entries in the general ledger, processing invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. The role includes preparing periodic financial statements, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations. The Accountant will assist with tax preparation and filings, maintain accurate financial documentation, and support internal and external audits. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be required to provide financial insights, maintain cost controls, and support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications :
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks or similar) and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
- Knowledge of Indian taxation, GST, TDS, and compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and documentation practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience as an accountant or in a similar finance role; experience in a tech or startup environment is a plus.
- Ability to work ethically, maintain confidentiality, and uphold high standards of integrity in all financial matters.
