Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Mumbai. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial activities, including bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and preparation of invoices and receipts. Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, monitoring cash flow, and supporting monthly and annual closing processes. The role also involves preparing basic financial reports, assisting with tax-related documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory standards. The Accountant will collaborate with operations and sales teams to track inventory-related costs and maintain accurate financial records.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting fundamentals, including knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, and financial statements.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel for data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Understanding of GST, income tax basics, and other relevant Indian financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and periodic closing activities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai in a structured environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; relevant experience in trading or wholesale businesses is an advantage.
