Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in New Delhi. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including recording journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring accurate and timely posting of financial transactions. The role involves preparing invoices, processing vendor bills, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank and credit card statements. The Accountant will assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, support budgeting and forecasting, and prepare basic management reports for leadership. The position also includes ensuring compliance with applicable tax and statutory requirements, coordinating with auditors and consultants, and helping to improve internal controls and finance processes in a growing, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Strong core accounting skills, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and cash/bank management.
- Working knowledge of tax and statutory compliance relevant to India (e.g., GST, TDS, basic regulatory filings).
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, as well as MS Excel or Google Sheets for analysis and reporting.
- Ability to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and a structured, process-oriented working style.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a startup, FMCG, or consumer products environment is a plus, as is an interest in sustainable and eco-friendly products.
