About The Role
Our client, Exdia, an Australian-based bookkeeping, payroll, and financial support firm, is seeking to expand its remote team with an experienced Bookkeeper or Accountant. This is a stable, long-term opportunity suited for individuals seeking a structured and accountable work environment. The role involves performing advanced bookkeeping and payroll tasks for a diverse range of Australian clients, including small businesses, churches, and not-for-profit organizations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting clients' financial health.
The responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting reconciliations and system checks, preparing journals, reports, and cleaning up financial files. Additionally, the role encompasses payroll processing, employee setup, superannuation management, and ensuring adherence to compliance standards. You will work within clearly documented procedures supported by structured systems, and collaborate with a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional service.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping, such as a certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping, or a diploma in accounting or finance. Prior experience working with Australian accounting systems and software, such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks, is essential. Strong understanding of Australian tax laws, superannuation regulations, and payroll compliance is required. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently within a structured environment are crucial. Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are also highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely processing and accuracy
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and financial records
- Prepare and post journal entries, financial reports, and conduct file clean-ups as necessary
- Process payroll accurately, including employee setup, superannuation contributions, and compliance with Australian payroll laws
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax laws and payroll regulations to ensure compliance
- Support clients with financial inquiries and provide accurate reporting to assist decision-making
- Adhere to documented procedures and contribute to continuous process improvements
