EcoKaari™ is dedicated to creating UPCYCLED-HANDWOVEN products from waste plastic bags and multi-layered plastics (MLPs) using traditional charkha (spindle) and handloom techniques. Our mission is to reduce plastic waste in landfills and oceans while raising awareness about environmental conservation. We empower individuals, particularly women from underprivileged backgrounds, by offering training and opportunities to earn a livelihood. Based in Pune, India, we operate an online shop and participate in exhibitions, while also offering corporate gifting solutions under our #GiftOfChange initiative.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division for an Accountant. The Accountant will handle day-to-day financial transactions, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management. Key responsibilities include preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, overseeing payroll processes, and managing budget planning and analysis. Additionally, the role includes contributing to financial forecasting and supporting decision-making through accurate financial data management.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for budget planning and financial forecasting
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel)
- Knowledge of tax laws, regulatory compliance, and payroll management
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation and reporting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines effectively
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CA, CPA) are a plus
- Prior experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing or social enterprise environment
- Proficiency in working both independently and collaboratively in an on-site setting
