Role Description The Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Chennai Area. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing vouchers and invoices. Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, supporting monthly and annual closing, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements. The role involves ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and maintaining accurate documentation for audits. The Accountant will also help improve financial processes and support management with data for decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, with experience in managing ledgers and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (such as Tally, ERP or similar), MS Excel, and other office productivity tools used for financial analysis and documentation.
- Understanding of Indian taxation, GST, invoicing, compliance requirements, and audit documentation practices.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a trading and supply-chain environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers, banks, and internal stakeholders.
- Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field;
- Prior experience in accounting for trading, import–export, or logistics businesses is preferred.
