About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team in Kottayam. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a strong career in Australian accounting and bookkeeping while working in a practical, hands-on environment.
You will work closely with clients and support in preparation for individual tax returns gaining exposure to real Australian taxation workflows. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys working with numbers in a structured and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Accounting: Maintain accurate financial records using Xero, including bank, credit card, and payroll reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparation of financial statements such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets, including year-end reporting.
- Taxation & Compliance: Assist in the preparation of BAS (Business Activity Statements) and Individual Tax Returns in strict compliance with ATO regulations.
- Client Management: Work closely with small business clients to manage bookkeeping, GST, and ongoing reporting requirements.
- Accuracy & Compliance: Ensure all financial data is accurate, consistent, and aligned with Australian taxation standards.
Qualifications
- Education: B.Com, M.Com, or Semi-qualified CA/CMA/CPA.
- Experience: 2–4 years in accounting or bookkeeping. Previous experience with Australian accounting standards is highly preferred. CA/CPA firm experience is preferred.
