Role Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for day‑to‑day accounting, maintenance of books of accounts, reconciliations and support in monthly closing and audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Record day‑to‑day transactions in the accounting system (sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journals).
- Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including invoice processing, vendor/customer reconciliation and ageing follow‑up.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliation statements and other ledger reconciliations on a periodic basis.
- Assist in preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and management reports.
- Support statutory, internal and tax audits by providing schedules and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS and other statutory requirements (data compilation, basic workings, coordination with consultants).
- Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practical experience in general ledger, AP/AR and reconciliations.
- Hands‑on experience with Tally / SAP / Oracle / any ERP and MS Excel.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy and analytical ability.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
