Account Manager, UK Accounting & Tax
Location: Chennai

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager, UK Accounting & Tax to manage a portfolio of UK clients, oversee accounting and tax compliance work, support tax planning, and lead a small accounting team.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and taxation, excellent communication skills, and experience managing both clients and team members.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates should meet one of the following:
- CA or ACCA with at least 5 years of UK Accounting experience
- MBA Finance with 5 to 7 years of UK Accounting experience
- MBA Finance with around 10 years of Indian Accounting experience
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of UK clients and act as the main point of contact
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Review and finalise year-end statutory accounts
- Prepare and review UK Corporation Tax computations and CT600 returns
- Review VAT returns and VAT compliance
- Review payroll and PAYE compliance
- Prepare and review Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Provide tax planning and general tax advisory support
- Review bookkeeping and management accounts
- Ensure HMRC and Companies House filing deadlines are met
- Review work prepared by accountants and junior team members
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 3 to 5 people
- Allocate work and monitor team performance and deadlines
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members
- Handle client queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Identify opportunities to provide additional accounting, tax, and advisory services
Technical Knowledge
Candidates should have good working knowledge of:
- UK GAAP
- FRS 102
- FRS 105
- FRS 102 Section 1A
- UK Corporation Tax
- CT600
- VAT
- PAYE
- Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Statutory Accounts
- Management Accounts
- Tax Planning
Accounting Software
Experience with some of the following software is preferred:
- IRIS
- Sage
- Xero
- FreeAgent
- Capium
- Caseware
- CCH
Key Skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Strong client relationship management
- Strong UK accounting and taxation knowledge
- Good tax planning skills
- Team leadership and people management
- Strong review and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned clients
