About the Role
Twigs Direct is a luxury bespoke wooden furniture and home decor brand based in Gurugram, selling across our own website, Amazon, Flipkart, and Ferns & Petals. We're looking for a hands-on Accountant to own day-to-day financial operations, GST compliance, and marketplace reconciliations. Success in this role means clean books, zero compliance slip-ups, and giving the founders clear visibility into where money is being made and lost across products and channels.
Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day books of accounts in Tally, including journal entries, ledger postings, and bank reconciliations
- Handle GST filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9), TDS deductions and returns, and ensure timely compliance with all statutory deadlines
- Reconcile marketplace settlements from Amazon, Flipkart, and Ferns & Petals against actual payouts; flag commission discrepancies, return adjustments, and short payments
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments to carpenters, raw material suppliers, and logistics partners
- Process payroll for in-house staff and karigars, including PF, ESI, and professional tax where applicable
- Track inventory valuation and COGS across the home decor and furniture categories; coordinate with warehouse/production for physical stock audits
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements; produce channel-wise and category-wise profitability reports
- Manage e-way bills, invoicing (B2B and B2C), and HSN code accuracy for all SKUs
- Coordinate with external CA for annual audit, ITR filings, and ROC compliances
- Handle petty cash, expense reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations
Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter, with 2-5 years of accounting experience (D2C, e-commerce, or manufacturing background strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of Tally Prime and/or Zoho Books is mandatory
- Solid grasp of GST, TDS, and Indian statutory compliance
- Hands-on experience with marketplace reconciliation (Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub) is a big plus
- Comfortable with Excel — VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, basic formulas
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently without constant supervision
- Good written and verbal communication in English and Hindi
