Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for an Account Executive/Assistant Manager – Accounts at AMPA Groups. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring accurate and timely posting of entries. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and vendor statements, and supporting monthly and annual closing activities. The position also includes assisting with financial reporting, coordinating with internal departments and external auditors, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The individual will help improve accounting processes, support budgeting and cost tracking, and provide financial data and insights to management as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, including experience with general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of local taxation, compliance, and statutory reporting requirements relevant to real estate, retail, and hospitality sectors.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial statements, MIS reports, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and auditors in a professional manner.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CA(Final)any one group, CA Inter, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience minimum 3yrs to maximum 10 yrs in similar accounting roles, preferably within real estate, retail, hospitality, or diversified business groups, will be beneficial.
