Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CA) is highly preferred.

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Entry Level Accounts Assistant to join our growing and fully remote team. This crucial role will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, maintaining timely tax compliance, and contributing to process automation initiatives as we transition to Zoho Books and develop our own automated data entry systems. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent numerical skills, and a proactive mindset focused on efficiency and accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate books of accounts.
- Handle the preparation and submission of VAT returns in compliance with UAE regulations.
- Work on subtracks, providing regular progress updates.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Process and record financial transactions efficiently. Maintain accurate financial records while adhering to basic financial controls.
- Analyze financial transactions to demonstrate strong foundational accounting knowledge.
- Apply key concepts such as budgeting, variance analysis, and internal audit.
- Support the preparation of financial reports.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting procedures and laws.
- Proactively take ownership of your tasks and ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate effectively with our remote team via video conferencing and other digital tools.
- Contribute to our transition to Zoho Books and the development of automated data entry systems.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required to support the accounts team and the broader organization.
Core Competencies
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or an Inter CA.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounting software (Zoho Books or QuickBooks is a plus).
- Strong numerical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of UAE VAT and banking regulations is desirable.
- Strong understanding of key financial concepts, including budgeting, variance analysis, and internal audit
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration (reliable internet and working camera/video are a must).
- A proactive and responsible work ethic, comfortable in a performance-based environment.
Onboarding & Success Path
Selected candidates must successfully complete a mandatory structured onboarding and training program. Engagement and progress during onboarding are closely monitored and form part of the probation evaluation. Failure to complete required training or demonstrate sufficient involvement may result in the offer being withdrawn.
