📌 Senior Accessibility Tester (Remote) – Job Description
🧭 Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Accessibility Tester to ensure our digital products are inclusive, usable, and compliant with accessibility standards. This role involves hands-on manual testing, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across web and mobile platforms. Experience in e-learning platforms (LMS) is highly desirable.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔍 Accessibility Testing (Manual)
• Perform end-to-end accessibility audits for web and mobile apps
• Test using assistive technologies:
• Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
• Keyboard-only navigation
• Validate against:
• WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 (A, AA, AAA)
• ARIA best practices
• Identify issues in:
• Color contrast
• Focus order
• Semantic structure
• Forms & error handling
⚙️ Automation Testing
• Develop and maintain automated accessibility test scripts
• Use tools like:
• axe-core / axe DevTools
• Lighthouse
• Pa11y
• Integrate accessibility checks into:
• CI/CD pipelines
• Regression testing suites
• Collaborate with QA/Dev to improve automation coverage
📱 Web & Mobile Testing
• Test accessibility on:
• Responsive web apps
• Native apps (Android & iOS)
• Ensure compliance across:
• Different browsers
• Devices and screen sizes
🤝 Collaboration & Advocacy
• Work closely with:
• Developers
• Designers (UX/UI)
• Product managers
• Provide:
• Actionable defect reports
• Accessibility recommendations
• Conduct accessibility awareness sessions
📊 Documentation & Reporting
• Create:
• Accessibility audit reports
• VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template)
• Track and verify issue fixes
🎓 Required Skills & Experience
✅ Must-Have
• 4+ years in Accessibility Testing / QA
• Strong knowledge of:
• WCAG 2.1/2.2
• Section 508 / ADA compliance
• Experience with:
• Manual accessibility testing
• Accessibility automation tools
• Familiarity with:
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript (for debugging issues)
• Experience testing:
• Web + Mobile applications
⭐ Good to Have
• Experience with e-learning platforms (LMS) such as:
• Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas
• Knowledge of:
• ARIA roles & accessibility APIs
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Certification:
• CPACC / WAS / Trusted Tester
🏠 Work Setup
• Fully Remote (Work from Home)
• Mon-Fri(9AM-6PM)
• Collaboration via remote tools (Slack, Teams, Jira)
