Role Overview
We are hiring an Accessibility Specialist to lead accessibility across our product portfolio and client deliverables. You will audit, remediate, and certify the accessibility of web apps, mobile apps, design systems, and procurement documents. The role suits a hands-on practitioner who can read WCAG success criteria, run a screen reader audit, file an actionable defect, and pair with engineers to fix it.
Key Responsibilities
• Audit web and mobile products against WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, and EN 301 549, using both automated tools (axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, Accessibility Insights) and manual testing.
• Perform manual screen reader testing across JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack.
• Produce VPATs and accessibility conformance reports (ACR) for client procurement, including EU public sector bids.
• Partner with developers to remediate issues across HTML semantics, ARIA, keyboard navigation, focus management, color contrast, and motion sensitivity.
• Embed accessibility into design system components, working with designers on Figma annotations, focus order, and inclusive patterns.
• Define accessibility acceptance criteria for user stories and integrate axe-core or similar into CI pipelines.
• Remediate accessible documents (PDF, Word) used in proposals, contracts, and client communications.
• Train engineering, design, and content teams on accessibility fundamentals and role-specific practices.
• Act as accessibility subject matter expert during RFP responses and client conformance reviews.
Other Mandatory Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field.
• 4+ years of dedicated accessibility experience auditing and remediating production web or mobile products.
• Deep working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 success criteria and ability to map defects to specific criteria.
• Strong front-end fundamentals: semantic HTML, ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript at a level sufficient to read and review code.
• Hands-on experience with assistive technologies across desktop, web, iOS, and Android.
• Experience producing VPAT 2.x or ACR documents for enterprise or government clients.
Preferred Skills
• IAAP CPACC, ADS (Accessible Document Specialist), or DHS Trusted Tester certification in addition to CPWA or WAS.
• Mobile accessibility experience on iOS (SwiftUI, UIKit) and Android (Jetpack Compose, View system).
• Experience with React, React Native, and modern design system frameworks.
• Familiarity with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and ADA Title III obligations.
• Exposure to accessibility testing for AI interfaces, including conversational UI and AI-generated content.
• Experience with PDF accessibility remediation tools (Adobe Acrobat Pro, CommonLook, axesPDF).
What We Offer
• Ownership of the accessibility function across SDLC Corp's product and services portfolio.
• Direct impact on EU and US public sector engagements where accessibility is contractual.
• Sponsored IAAP certifications, renewals, CAECs, and conference attendance (CSUN, axe-con, M-Enabling).
• Competitive compensation, performance bonuses, and clear path to Lead Accessibility Specialist or Accessibility Practice Head.
• Hybrid working model from our Noida delivery center, with remote flexibility for experienced candidates.
