PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor the Systems team, ensuring professional growth and development.
- Oversee day-to-day operations related to security, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
- Set priorities, balance workloads, and ensure professional development of team members.
- Serve as escalation point for complex technical and security issues.
- Work with senior leadership to develop long-term strategies for the team and technology roadmap.
- Own documentation for current and future system architectures.
Security & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the organization's IT systems comply with applicable regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Oversee incident response protocols and disaster recovery plans.
- Approve security standards, remediation plans, and risk acceptance decisions.
- Act as primary point of accountability during audits, assessments, and security reviews.
Networking & Infrastructure
- Manage and optimize the company’s network infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime.
Cloud Services Management
- Manage Azure cloud services and ensure secure and efficient cloud operations.
- Implement and maintain cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring robust backup and disaster recovery processes.
Innovation & Technical Advancement
- Proactively identify, experiment with, and implement AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency and accelerate adoption across the team.
- Identify opportunities to modernize systems, tooling, and processes to improve security posture, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Continuously assess existing technologies and configurations, recommending upgrades, replacements, or optimizations as needed to keep the environment current.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Vendor Management & Procurement
- Assist in the evaluation, selection, and procurement of hardware, software, and services related to networking, cloud infrastructure, and security.
- Manage vendor relationships related to infrastructure and security tooling.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure proper documentation of system configurations, network topologies, security protocols, and disaster recovery plans.
- Prepare and maintain reports on system performance, security incidents, and project milestones for IT leadership.
Project Management Support
- Participate in or lead technical projects, ensuring timelines, resources, and deliverables are met.
- Work alongside senior leadership on strategic infrastructure upgrades or security initiatives.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in IT security, networking, and cloud computing to ensure that the organization remains competitive and secure.
- Participate in ongoing professional development through training, certifications, and industry research, and apply learnings to real-world improvements.
- Develop and provide training for team members or other departments on security awareness, system use, or new technologies introduced within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 15+ years experience working in an IT infrastructure support environment
- Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years senior technical and leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks, regulatory compliance, and best practices
- Proficiency in Azure and hybrid cloud environments, information security systems, incident response and management, and enterprise infrastructure
