Primary job title: Academic Counselor
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct structured one-on-one academic and career counseling sessions (telephonic and in-person) to assess student goals, strengths, and eligibility.
- Manage end-to-end admissions activities: program matching, document guidance, application submission, and follow-up with institutions.
- Convert inbound leads and perform proactive outreach to achieve monthly enrolment targets; maintain timely and accurate CRM records.
- Administer and interpret psychometric and aptitude assessments; provide personalised study and course recommendations based on results.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and placement teams to refine counseling scripts, SOPs, and onboarding workflows.
- Prepare progress reports, maintain student records, and escalate cases requiring specialist intervention or senior review.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Experience in academic or admissions counseling
- Demonstrable track record in lead-to-enrolment conversion
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM, HubSpot)
- Ability to administer and interpret psychometric/aptitude assessments
- Strong tele-counselling and in-person counseling skills
- Fluency in English and at least one regional Indian language
Preferred
- Certification in counseling, career guidance, or related pedagogy
- Prior experience in edtech, student recruitment, or overseas admissions
- Familiarity with SOP review and international application documentation
