Role Description The Academic Counselor (International Sales) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. The role involves counseling prospective students on international study options, including programs, universities, admission criteria, and career pathways. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings, and guiding students through application and documentation processes. The counselor will support students in selecting suitable courses based on their academic background and career goals, and follow up regularly to ensure timely submission of required materials. The role also includes participating in outreach activities, presenting at information sessions, coordinating with partner institutions, and meeting individual and team sales targets linked to student enrollment. The Academic Counselor is expected to maintain detailed records of interactions, use CRM or similar tools for tracking leads, and collaborate with colleagues to improve counseling strategies and conversion rates.
Qualifications
- Counseling and advising skills, including Student Counseling, Career Counseling, and Academic Advising
- Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Understanding of Education systems, particularly international higher education pathways and admission processes
- Ability to build rapport with diverse students and families, demonstrating empathy, cultural awareness, and professionalism
- Prior experience in academic counseling, overseas education consulting, or education sales is highly desirable
- Goal-oriented mindset with proven ability to meet sales or enrollment targets in a service-oriented environment
- Proficiency with basic office software and CRM or lead management tools
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- 0 to 5yrs of experience in edtech only.
- Salary upto 6LPA.
- Targets based incentives upto 4LPA.
- Immediate joiners preferred.
