Vidya Setu Institute is a Noida-based education consulting firm helping students navigate PhD admissions, higher education, and professional certification programs. We are expanding rapidly and looking for a driven Academic Counsellor to guide students and convert inquiries into enrolments.
About the role
As an Academic Counsellor at VSI, you will be the primary point of contact for prospective students — from first inquiry to final enrolment. You will counsel students on PhD admissions, postgraduate programmes, and our tech certification courses (Data Science, AI/ML, Full Stack, Python, and more), helping them choose the right path and commit to it.
Key responsibilities
Handle inbound inquiries via phone, WhatsApp, and social media; respond promptly and professionally
Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions (in-person, Google Meet, or phone) to understand student goals and recommend suitable programmes
Guide students through the PhD admission process — university shortlisting, SOP, research proposal, and documentation
Explain and pitch VSI's certification courses (6-month tech programmes) and DSA crash course to college students
Follow up with leads systematically and maintain a conversion pipeline
Coordinate with college campus ambassadors and attend outreach seminars across NCR colleges
Maintain accurate student records and report enrolment data weekly
Address student concerns related to fees, placement support, and programme structure
Who we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline (education, management, or STEM preferred)
1–3 years of experience in academic counselling, edtech sales, or student advisory roles
Strong communication and persuasion skills in Hindi and English
Comfortable with CRM tools, Google Meet, and WhatsApp Business
Self-motivated, target-oriented, and empathetic with students
Familiarity with the Indian higher education landscape is a plus
Freshers with excellent interpersonal skills are welcome to apply
