Role Description The Academic Counselor – Admission Office will work full time on-site in Bengaluru, guiding prospective and current learners through Deeksha’s academic offerings and admission processes. Responsibilities include meeting and counseling students and families, understanding their academic backgrounds and aspirations, and recommending suitable programs across Deeksha’s verticals. The role involves conducting individual and group counseling sessions, providing information on courses, curricula, examination pathways, and career prospects, and supporting applicants with documentation and form completion. The counselor will collaborate with faculty and admissions teams to ensure accurate communication of eligibility criteria, selection procedures, and timelines, while maintaining detailed records of interactions and follow-ups. Daily tasks also include participating in outreach activities, handling walk-in and telephone inquiries, responding to digital queries, and contributing to a positive, supportive experience for learners and guardians.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners in making informed educational choices.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to explain programs clearly and engage with students, families, and internal teams.
- Candidates should possess Career Counseling and Education-related knowledge to guide learners on academic pathways and future opportunities.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Prior experience in academic counseling, admissions, or student support within schools, colleges, or coaching institutions.
- Ability to work with diverse student backgrounds, demonstrate empathy, maintain confidentiality, and handle multiple inquiries simultaneously.
- Comfort with using basic computer applications, student databases, and communication tools for documentation and follow-up.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, along with a collaborative approach to working with academic and administrative teams.
