Company Description The Collective Counsel (TCC) is a legal learning and professional development ecosystem focused on preparing the next generation of legal professionals. Role Description The Academic Counsellor will work full time on-site at TCC’s Shivajinagar location, guiding law students and early-career legal professionals through their academic and professional development journey. This role involves meeting learners individually and in groups to understand their goals, recommending suitable programs and courses within the TCC ecosystem, and tracking their progress over time. The Academic Counsellor will facilitate orientations, workshops, and information sessions, coordinate with mentors and faculty to align academic plans, and provide ongoing support on course selection, workload management, and skill-building. The role also includes maintaining accurate learner records, preparing reports on engagement and outcomes, and collaborating with internal teams to improve counselling processes and learning pathways.
Qualifications
- Strong academic advising and counselling skills, including the ability to understand learner goals, guide decision-making, and support career planning.
- Knowledge of legal education and the legal profession; prior experience working with law students, legal training programs, or academic institutions is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, listen actively, and work effectively with diverse learners and stakeholders.
- Organizational and administrative skills, including maintaining records, managing schedules, and preparing clear reports and documentation.
- Comfort with technology-enabled learning platforms and basic productivity tools; ability to learn and use new educational technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Education, Psychology, or a related field; a law degree or experience in legal practice or legal education is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and integrity, with a commitment to learner success and continuous improvement in academic support.
