Company Description Olympiad Junior is an educational initiative focused on preparing school students for national and international Olympiads in Mathematics, Science, and English. The organization offers live online classes, recorded lectures, structured study material, and mock tests to support both guided and self-paced learning. Course packages are tailored for learners from classes 1 to 8, with a strong focus on systematic Olympiad preparation. Founded in February 2023, Olympiad Junior currently supports over 400 students through a dedicated team of teachers and support staff. Role Description The Academic Counsellor will provide guidance to students and parents on Olympiad preparation pathways, helping them select suitable courses based on grade level, learning needs, and academic goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, explaining program offerings, coordinating with teaching and support teams, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and enrolments. The role involves responding to inquiries, supporting student engagement and retention, and providing periodic feedback to improve the overall learning experience. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lucknow, requiring active collaboration with colleagues and direct interaction with students and families.
Qualifications
- Strong academic counselling and student guidance skills, with the ability to understand school curriculum and Olympiad requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including clear spoken and written English and the ability to build trust with students and parents.
- Organizational and coordination abilities, such as managing schedules, maintaining records, and following up on student progress and enrolments.
- Basic digital literacy, including comfort with online learning platforms, video conferencing tools, and office productivity software.
- Prior experience in education, coaching, counselling, or working with school-age learners is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Lucknow, with a student-focused mindset, professionalism, and adherence to non-discriminatory, inclusive practices.
