Role Description
The Academic Counsellor will provide individualized academic advising and student counseling to support learners through Lymax Learning’s programs, with a focus on the MAP pathway. This full-time, on-site role based in Kochi involves meeting students and families, understanding academic goals, recommending suitable courses, and monitoring academic progress. The Academic Counsellor will guide students on global education options, university pathways, and admission requirements, and collaborate with faculty and administrators to ensure smooth academic journeys. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, maintaining accurate student records, organizing information sessions and workshops, and responding to student queries in a timely, professional manner.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to guide learners effectively.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information in an accessible way.
- Candidates should possess Career Counseling skills to support students in mapping education choices to future career opportunities.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Education, with an understanding of academic pathways and global university systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; a master’s degree or counseling certification is an advantage.
- Experience in academic counseling, student services, or education consulting, preferably in higher education or international education environments.
- Ability to build trust with students and families, maintain confidentiality, and work with diverse backgrounds in an inclusive manner.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with office software and student information systems.
