Role Description
The Indian School of Public Policy (ISPP) is seeking a dynamic and academically driven Academic Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about public policy education, curriculum design, and academic excellence.
The Academic Coordinator will serve as the key bridge between faculty and scholars—managing academic operations, supporting curriculum development, mentoring scholars, and contributing to ISPP’s mission of developing India’s next-generation policy leaders. The position reports directly to the Dean.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Academic Operations
- Oversee academic planning, including handbook updates, academic calendars, faculty assignments, and course assessments.
- Support faculty in designing and delivering postgraduate courses in economics, statistics, game theory, and policy analysis.
- Coordinate curriculum quality, faculty support, and academic governance processes.
Scholar Support & Academic Administration
- Guide scholars on coursework, research, and academic conduct.
- Partner with Learning Associates (LAs) to align class delivery and learning outcomes.
- Monitor scholar performance, attendance, and academic progression.
- Mentor postgraduate scholars in research and publication efforts.
- Manage departmental budgets and academic records.
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Manage and update ISPP’s LMS, ensuring all course materials, assessments, and transcripts are current and accurate.
- Integrate guest lectures, quantitative resources, and learning tools into digital platforms.
Research, Events & Cross-Team Coordination
- Coordinate guest lectures, research events, and workshops, including the Harris Lecture Series.
- Collaborate with admissions, outreach, and administrative teams for seamless academic operations.
- Support faculty-led research and quantitative policy analysis initiatives.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in academic coordination, curriculum development, or higher education administration.
- Academic experience in higher educational institutes is mandatory.
- Advanced degree (PhD/M.Phil./MA) in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Experience in postgraduate teaching, instructional design, or research supervision preferred.
- Strong organisational, communication, and academic management skills.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, quantitative methods, and software (R, Python, Stata) is an advantage.
- A genuine passion for interdisciplinary scholarship and mentorship.
