About the Role
Vidysea is looking for a passionate and student-focused Academic & Career Counsellor to work closely with partner schools and help students make informed academic and career decisions. The role involves delivering career guidance, coordinating with school management, training school counsellors, and ensuring successful implementation of the PathLynks Career Discovery Program.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Counselling
- Conduct one-on-one and group career counselling sessions for students.
- Guide students in selecting appropriate academic streams and career pathways.
- Explain psychometric assessment reports and recommend suitable career options.
- Address students' and parents' queries regarding higher education and career planning.
School Coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partner schools.
- Coordinate with Principals, Coordinators, and School Management for smooth execution of career guidance programs.
- Schedule assessments, counselling sessions, workshops, and orientation programs.
- Ensure timely completion of activities as per the implementation plan.
Training & Capacity Building
- Train school counsellors, teachers, and coordinators on the PathLynks platform.
- Conduct workshops on career awareness, assessment interpretation, and counselling best practices.
- Support schools in effectively using the platform and reports.
Program Implementation
- Ensure successful onboarding and implementation of the PathLynks Career Discovery Program.
- Monitor student participation and completion of assessments.
- Track progress and share regular reports with internal teams and school stakeholders.
Parent Engagement
- Conduct parent orientation sessions on career planning and emerging career opportunities.
- Help parents understand assessment reports and support informed decision-making.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain counselling records and student interaction reports.
- Prepare implementation updates, training reports, and feedback summaries.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve operational issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in career counselling, school counselling, admissions, or the education sector.
- Certification in Career Counselling or Psychometric Assessment will be an added advantage.
Skills Required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong counselling and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to train and engage educators and school counsellors.
- Relationship management and stakeholder coordination.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital platforms.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with schools or educational institutions.
- Knowledge of psychometric assessments and career guidance frameworks.
- Ability to travel within the assigned region.
