Role Description The Academic Advisor will provide guidance and support to learners throughout their academic journey on UNext Learning programs. This full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru involves advising learners on program selection, course planning, and progression to align with their career goals. Day-to-day tasks include conducting advising sessions, responding to learner queries, monitoring academic performance, and recommending interventions when learners face challenges. The Academic Advisor will collaborate with faculty, support teams, and university partners to ensure a positive learning experience and timely completion of programs. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and contributing to continuous improvement of advising processes and learner engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong academic advising, counseling, or student support skills, with the ability to guide learners in course selection and career planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse learner populations.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple advising cases, maintain documentation, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with digital tools and educational technology platforms used for online and blended learning environments.
- Analytical skills to review learner performance data, identify risks, and recommend appropriate support strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Management, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience in academic advising, student services, or higher education is preferred, especially in online or continuing education programs.
- Commitment to learner success, equity, and inclusion, with a learner-centric approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
