Role Description The Academic Advisor will provide guidance to students on academic programs, course selection, and progression, ensuring alignment with their educational goals. This full-time, on-site role in Bengaluru involves conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, supporting learners with study plans, and addressing academic or personal challenges that affect performance. The advisor will collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to monitor student progress, identify at-risk learners, and recommend appropriate interventions. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate advising records, organizing information sessions, assisting with career exploration related to academic choices, and responding to student inquiries in a timely and professional manner. The role also requires staying updated on institutional policies, educational trends, and available resources to provide current and reliable guidance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills to support learners in academic, personal, and professional decision-making.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to conduct advising sessions, facilitate group discussions, and prepare clear written guidance.
- Candidates should possess Academic Advising skills to help students with course planning, program selection, and progression tracking.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Education to understand curricula, learning outcomes, and institutional requirements.
- Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience in academic advising, student services, or educational counseling in a school, college, or training institute setting.
- Ability to build trust with diverse student populations, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills, with proficiency in basic office software and student information systems.
