Role Description The AC Technician at Crowne Plaza Kochi is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC and related systems throughout the hotel. This role includes performing routine inspections, carrying out preventive maintenance tasks, and ensuring that air-conditioning systems operate efficiently and safely in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The AC Technician will respond to maintenance requests, diagnose issues with electrical and plumbing components linked to HVAC systems, and coordinate with the engineering team to minimize downtime and disruption. The role also involves adhering to safety and environmental standards, documenting work performed, supporting energy-saving initiatives, and providing professional, timely service that contributes to a comfortable guest and team member experience.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for HVAC and building systems, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Hands-on experience with plumbing and related mechanical systems that interface with HVAC infrastructure.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for AC units, chillers, ventilation systems, and associated equipment.
- Solid understanding of electricity, including safe handling of electrical components and basic controls related to HVAC systems.
- Awareness of environmental and safety standards; EPA-related knowledge or certification is an advantage.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
- Previous experience in hotel, commercial, or industrial facilities maintenance preferred.
- Ability to work in shifts, respond to emergencies, and collaborate effectively with a diverse engineering and operations team.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities and reading digital manuals; ability to follow technical drawings and instructions.
