The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring the overall food safety in all Abimar facilities. QA is primarily responsible for auditing that the processes & procedures built to ensure food safety and quality of all products is being followed. QA is responsible for assuring the company is in compliance with company and customer policy requirements and governmental regulations. Additionally, collaboration with other departments is necessary to ensure the highest food safety and quality standards are followed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completion of a Daily checklist that includes paperwork verification, GMP compliance and employee awareness conversations.
  • Support pest control monitoring and making observations, cleanup requests to Sanitation.
  • Support Audit requests.
  • Inspect incoming product packaging and compare against approved artwork for any discrepancies when possible.
  • Support Customer related documentation and/or regulatory requests.
  • Monitor and report findings while conducting observations of the Food Safety and Personnel Safety programs within the plants. 
  • Monitor and report opportunities in relation to GMP’s, Food Defense, Allergen programs and other portions of the Food Safety Plan.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts.
  • Accept and adapt easily to change.

Experience

A high school diploma is required as experience in an inventory related field, strong organizational skills and computer proficiency are essential, specifically SAP and MS Office software.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years experience in Food Science or related field is preferred
