</div><div>The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing individualized, evidence-based instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a private school setting. This role focuses on developing academic, behavioral, communication, and social skills through structured teaching, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.<br><br>

<strong>Key Responsibilities<br></strong><br>

<strong>Instruction & Curriculum<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li> Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs </li>
<li> Deliver instruction using evidence-based practices such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, and other structured teaching strategies </li>
<li> Adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning styles and developmental levels </li>
<li> Provide direct instruction in academic, communication, social, and daily living skills </li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Behavior Support<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li> Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) with fidelity </li>
<li> Use positive behavior supports and reinforcement strategies to reduce maladaptive behaviors </li>
<li> Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform instructional decisions </li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Assessment & Data Collection<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li> Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress </li>
<li> Maintain accurate and timely data collection on academic and behavioral goals </li>
<li> Use data to modify teaching strategies and interventions </li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Collaboration<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li> Work closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists </li>
<li> Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress </li>
<li> Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development </li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Classroom Management<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li> Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment </li>
<li> Supervise paraprofessionals or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) as assigned </li>
<li> Ensure compliance with school policies and state/federal regulations </li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Qualifications<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li> Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or related field.</li>
<li> Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (preferred) </li>
<li> Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder </li>
<li> Knowledge of ABA principles and data collection methods preferred </li>
<li> Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills </li>

<strong>Preferred Skills<br></strong><br>

<li> Experience with verbal behavior programming </li>
<li> Familiarity with assistive communication devices (AAC) </li>
<li> Crisis prevention/intervention training (e.g., CPI) </li>
<li> Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment </li>

<li> Small classroom sizes with high staff-to-student ratios </li>

<li> Ability to stand, walk, and engage actively throughout the day </li>
<li> Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds as needed </li>
