Job Title: Learning Design Manager
Location: Bangalore
Reporting to: Sr Manager
Job Description
1. PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Manager of the learning Design Team is responsible for leading a skilled team to create high-impact learning content that drives organizational objectives. This role will be ensuring learning materials are engaging, relevant, and aligned with business goals. With a focus on optimizing instructional design processes, this leader will uphold rigorous quality standards and leverage generative AI to advance content creation processes. This role will play a vital role in building an efficient, innovative team culture, ensuring resources are mobilized effectively and fostering continuous improvement across all learning design initiatives
2. KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Team Leadership and Development
· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of instructional designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify growth opportunities for team members
2. Content Strategy and Process Development
· Lead the development & execution of ABI's Global content strategy
· Collaborate with leadership to establish and refine content strategies on internal Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), aligning content offerings with business objectives
· Develop and implement scalable instructional design processes and workflows to optimize efficiency, quality, and consistency in content creation
Continuously evaluate and enhance learning design methodologies to ensure the highest standards in learner experience and engagement
3. Leverage Tech for Content Innovation
· Identify and utilize Tech tools to streamline content creation, enhance creativity, and maintain relevance in learning materials
· Train and guide the team on effectively incorporating AI-driven solutions into content design, optimizing both efficiency and learner engagement
Choose the right vendor for translations of our global trainings into different languages, develop & lead the translation process
4. Quality Control and Content Review
· Conduct comprehensive QC reviews of all instructional design content to ensure accuracy, alignment with learning objectives, and adherence to quality standards
Establish and maintain QC protocols and guidelines for consistency in all deliverables
5. Content Development and Tool Expertise
· Oversee the creation of interactive, learner-centered content using various authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, or similar)
6. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
· Act as the primary liaison with project/business stakeholders to understand content needs, set expectations, and provide updates on project status
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure instructional materials align with organizational goals and learner needs
3. Qualifications, Experience, Skills
Qualifications
· MBA in Human Resources from a premium institute
· Or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education or a related field
Experience
· 5+ years in instructional design or content development, with 1+ year(s) in a managerial or team lead role
Skills & Knowledge
· Excellent project management and organizational skills.
· Effective communication and leadership abilities to motivate and develop team members.
· Strong proficiency with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
· Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Experience Platforms (LXP).
· Demonstrated ability to implement strategic improvements in learning design processes.
· Familiarity with generative AI applications in content creation and instructional design.
· Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality control.
