The job responsibilities include writing, testing, and documenting technical work products, solving technical problems, building components/libraries with far-ranging impact, delivering high quality work and coaching more junior engineers on technical craftsmanship, conducting root cause analysis to identify systemic problems and defining/leading execution of action items to address them, designing thoughtfully integrated systems that model organizational best practices, overseeing the management of technical debt in existing systems and driving opportunities to eliminate within ongoing implementations, anticipating scaling, latency, and durability challenges and guiding teams in implementation of mitigating strategies, partnering with the security organization to incorporate security conscious practices early in the lifecycle of new systems, thoughtfully evaluating technical risks and guiding toward practical prevention strategies, reflecting on squad delivery practices throughout their span of influence, recommending improvements to leadership and driving their implementation, maintaining a focus on removing the duplication of effort across teams and proactively identifying opportunities for reuse within their span of influence, thoughtfully measuring and assessing team and identifying areas of development for individuals, and exploring emerging technologies, leading development of prototypes with little or no guidance and incorporating into architectural solutions where appropriate.
