AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Site / Civil Engineer to join our growing team of design professionals in our Washington, DC office. We are seeking qualified candidates with 0-2 years of experience in the planning and civil engineering design of residential, commercial, institutional, and public (federal and local) site development projects.
Responsibilities include preparing construction documents, the design of site and infrastructure improvements including grading, utilities, erosion control, stormwater management, site layout including roadway improvements, the preparation of calculations and reports, and site inspections and construction administration duties. The ideal candidate will have primary experience in suburban Maryland, Northern Virginia, and DC.

Responsibilities
Assist project managers and engineering staff in the preparation of construction documents
Support the design of site and infrastructure improvements, including grading, dry and wet utilities, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management systems
Prepare engineering calculations and technical reports that support design decisions
Process plans and documentation through District of Columbia and local regulatory agencies
Support construction administration and field activities, including site visits and inspections, as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 0–2 years of experience in site/civil engineering design for mixed-use, residential, commercial, institutional, or public projects
- EIT certification required
- Exposure to projects in the District of Columbia, Suburban Maryland, and/or Northern Virginia preferred
- Ability to assist with preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, studies, and reports
- Technical proficiency with AutoCAD, including Civil 3D (MicroStation experience a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
