Data Engineer to join our
IT team, based in A&O Shearman's New York office.
Information Technology team - New York The core of the global technology department’s mission is to provide stable, reliable, and secure platforms and services to our partners, staff and clients and fulfil our regulatory obligations across 30+ countries. To ensure that a consistent and standardised IT service is delivered to all offices, IT is managed and led as a global function, enabling all offices to benefit from complete systems integration and economies of scale. We have around 400 technologists based predominantly in the UK, Singapore and increasingly in the US.
Enterprise Architecture and Technology Platforms
To develop and maintain the firm’s technology strategy and enterprise architecture. In parallel, own, improve and simplify the firm’s key technology ‘building blocks’ by designing, building and managing the core technology platforms which are fundamental to delivering strategic business goals.
What you will do Reporting to the Data Platform Owner, this role will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and architectures to enable scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions. The role is a member of the data platform team and is responsible for managing and motivating a of skilled IT professionals and directing external third-party service providers.
The role is accountable for ensuring that data is accessible, high-quality, and ready for advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
The role also requires collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data platforms that support strategic decision-making.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the design, build, and maintenance of scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure.

The actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and other job-related factors permitted by law. This role is open to our New York office. For individuals assigned to or hired for this opportunity in New York, the estimated annualized base salary range for this position is $147,000 - $175,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and other job-related factors permitted by law.
