THE MISSION — READ THIS OR DON’T BOTHER
We’re building a B2B HR intelligence platform from ZERO to WORKING PRODUCT under extreme timelines.
This is not a “learn and observe” internship.
This is a real startup engineering role where your backend systems, integrations, APIs, and database decisions will directly impact whether the product works or breaks.
We need highly capable backend builders who can:
- move fast,
- solve problems independently,
- integrate systems efficiently,
- and communicate clearly under pressure.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO
You’ll work directly on the core backend infrastructure powering the platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining backend APIs
- Integrating third-party systems and services
- Handling metadata, operational logs, and workflow data
- Designing and optimizing SQL/PostgreSQL queries
- Building scalable backend workflows
- Connecting frontend systems with backend infrastructure
- Working with authentication, APIs, and secure data handling
- Debugging integration and production issues
- Building internal tools and automation workflows
- Collaborating closely with founders and engineers to ship features rapidly

Strong communication skills matter heavily for this role.
You should be able to:
- explain blockers clearly,
- ask smart technical questions,
- and collaborate effectively in a fast-moving startup environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Strong backend fundamentals
- Good understanding of APIs and integrations
- Strong SQL/database understanding
- Experience building projects outside coursework/tutorials
- Ability to debug issues independently
- Comfortable working with messy/changing requirements
- Strong ownership mindset
- Good communication skills
- Available 25–35 hours/week for 6 months

Step 2 — 48-Hour Engineering Challenge
You’ll receive a real-world backend integration problem involving:
- APIs,
- SQL,
- workflows,
- metadata,
- and backend architecture.
Your task will be to build a working solution quickly and efficiently.
Step 3 — Reality Check
We’ll explain exactly how intense this role will be.
If you’re still excited afterward, you’re probably the right fit.
THE HARD TRUTH
This internship will be difficult.
You will:
- debug difficult backend issues,
- work under changing requirements,
- solve integration failures,
- optimize broken queries,
- and ship systems under pressure.
