Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented professional to manage on-site 3D laser scanning operations and post-processing of point cloud data. The role involves executing high-accuracy scans, ensuring data quality, and delivering processed outputs suitable for engineering, BIM, and digital twin applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. On-Site Scanning Operations
- Conduct 3D laser scanning using FARO Laser Scanners and SLAM LiDAR systems
- Plan scan positions and workflows to ensure complete coverage and accuracy
- Handle equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting on-site
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and site guidelines
- Coordinate with client/site teams to minimize disruptions
2. Data Processing & Registration
- Process and register point cloud data using FARO Scene
- Clean, align, and optimize scans for accuracy and completeness
- Perform quality checks and error corrections in datasets
- Export point cloud data into required formats for downstream applications
3. Data Conversion & Delivery
- Use Autodesk ReCap for point cloud indexing and project structuring
- Prepare deliverables such as:
- Registered point clouds (RCP/RCS/E57 formats)
- Basic measurements and annotations (if required)
- Ensure data is organized, documented, and archived properly
4. Coordination & Reporting
- Maintain daily logs of scanning activities and progress
- Report site issues, data gaps, and risks proactively
- Work closely with BIM/modeling teams for data handover
- Ensure timelines and deliverables are met as per project schedule
Required Skills & Software Proficiency
- Hands-on experience with:
- FARO Laser Scanners
- FARO Scene Software
- Autodesk ReCap
- SLAM LiDAR systems (e.g., handheld/mobile mapping)
- Strong understanding of:
- Point cloud registration and alignment
- Survey control and coordinate systems
- Data accuracy and QA/QC processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in laser scanning / LiDAR projects
- Experience working on infrastructure, buildings, or industrial projects
- Basic knowledge of BIM workflows (Revit / Navisworks is a plus)
