About the role
We're looking for a Front-End Web Developer Intern to join our Product team and contribute to the design and development of the web interface for 1QBit's Topological Quantum Architecture Design (TopQAD™) software suite. Our web portal is the primary way researchers and users interact with our quantum resource estimation platform. While TopQAD is not yet publicly available, you're welcome to browse the Product documentation (https://topqad.1qbit.com/) to get a sense of what you'll be working on.
You'll work as part of a close-knit team of eight, as one of two web developers working directly on the web portal, and you'll regularly incorporate feedback from researchers to make the interface more intuitive, responsive, and visually polished.
What You'll Do
Develop and enhance features on the TopQAD web portal, in coordination with backend updates
Improve the user experience through thoughtful UI/UX enhancements and performance tuning
Style and maintain responsive, accessible interfaces using modern CSS practices
Collaborate on visual design improvements to ensure the interface is clean, modern, and user-friendly
Participate in code reviews to help maintain consistency, quality, and best practices across the codebase
Work closely with teammates to understand user feedback and rapidly iterate on solutions
What You'll Bring
Experience with React and Next.js for building modern web interfaces
Proficiency in Typescript with a strong understanding of typing, interfaces, and front-end development practices
Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control and team collaboration
Interest in user-centered design and front-end performance optimization
A strong eye for detail and a passion for clean, maintainable code
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with TailwindCSS or similar utility-first CSS frameworks
Exposure to Docker or similar container tools
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
